Start with liquid. Pour coconut water into the blender first to help the blades move freely.
Add greens next. Add the fresh spinach. It will compress significantly during blending, so pack it into the measuring cup.
Add remaining ingredients. Add Greek yogurt, protein powder, frozen pineapple, frozen banana, chia seeds, fresh ginger if using, and lime juice.
Add ice. Top with 4-5 ice cubes for extra cold thickness.
Blend thoroughly. Start on low speed to break down the greens, then increase to high. Blend for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth with no green flecks visible.
Check consistency. The smoothie should be thick but drinkable. Add more coconut water if too thick, or more ice if too thin.
Pour and enjoy. Serve immediately. Green smoothies separate quickly, so consume within 15-20 minutes for best taste and texture.
